Come visit our family owned and upgraded one bedroom condo as it has everything you will need. Being on the second floor gives you a stunning and an unobstructed view of Lanai and Molokai islands, passing sailboats, sea turtles, Humpback whales, sunsets, stars and the planets. Relax with the sound of the waves. We have a fully equipped kitchen and a new king sized bed...so bring your swimsuits, flip flops and Aloha Spirit and enjoy our home away from home. Please note this condo has no sofa bed in the living room.

  Visited the second and third week of February. There are only about 30 units or so in the complex and that made our stay much more intimate. Get up every morning sit on our lanai and watch the whales go by and put on a show. Very convenient location and super friendly staff.

  Our Makini Sands No. 204 was a dream property via amenities, location and view. Although not located on a beach, there are many nearby. Some people swam and snorkeled at the property. Also, restaurants and stores are nearby. The owners have great taste in furnishings and music. Enjoy!

  Great location and beautiful ocean views. You cannot walk on the beach from the condo, but you can snorkel. The condo is great for two people. However, there is no privacy. The windows have to be open for airflow which allows people to see into the bedroom and living room/kitchen at all times. The front desk girls were extremely nice and helpful.

  We are repeat visitors to this property staying nine weeks. Tammy, the Property Manager is caring, capable and promptly addressed all our needs. The location is 1st class but all the Oceanside properties on the West side are experiencing erosion issues that require repair attention. Settle in and watch the daily parade of whales that pass this property that also looks out on the sister islands of Lanai and Molokai

  We had looked at Makani Sands on a previous trip to Maui. Friends at our church loved it here. So, we booked the the condo was just great. You couldn't be more "right on the beach". The staff was very helpful when we were delayed by a day when there was a large fire on Maui. We can't thank them enough.

  Our stay at Makani was wonderful. Marie was very helpful and cheerful. Loved the Monday evening pupu. The location was perfect, just a short walk to lots of restaurants (loved the food truck park). The Condo itself was great, had a beautiful view and we saw turtles from our balcony just about every day. No A/C, but when we were there we didn't need it as there was always a perfect breeze. I'm already thinking about my next vacation and will definitely try to get a spot at Makani.

  We had a great two weeks vacation in October in Makani Sands, which is an older and smaller resort, but exactly what we always look for. It is located by a smaller beach just few yards away from the building, with short driving distance to a beautiful Napili Coast, as well as to a great and long Ka'anapali Beach, good restaurants, and various grocery stores.
  The unit was nice and clean, tastefully upgraded, having everything we needed for our stay.
  However, a small disturbance was the bedroom windows exchange around our unit, which we did not know anything about at the time of reservation few months before our vacation.
  There is a nice and friendly staff in the office, always ready to help.
  We are looking forward to return back again, and certainly recommending it to everyone looking for a clean and quiet place.

  This was our second time to Makani Sands. You simply cannot beat the ocean view rooms for the price. Its very convenient to everything, quiet and the folks are awesome!   Had several issues during stay [smoking oven, toaster oven wouldn't power on, sliding doors (screen and glass) were VERY difficult to open / close, ants and EXTREMELY dirty floors], but overall still satisfied with the stay. Condo was well equipped and it's location was hard to beat. Furniture need some updating and the kitchen area is very small and the layout is strange, but for most this will not be an issue at all.

  This is our third time staying at Makani Sands. Makani Sands is our go to place or "second home" in Maui. This place is beautiful. The facility is very clean and well-kept.   The best way to describe our stay is FANTASTIC! The location is perfect. Makani Sands true "Ocean Front", with the lanais facing due west for the best sunset views. And the grounds are immaculate.   Apartment is in an older building but was comfortable, well equipped, good supplies etc - exactly as expected. But, the description of a beach is incorrect. There is no beach - it has been eroded away. The waves crash directly into a sea wall and the access into the ocean is via steps, slippery rocks and directly into waves. The advertising information is wrong and the photographs have not been updated to reflect serious coastal erosion on Maui.

  We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Makani Sands. The property is older and somewhat dated but well maintained and clean. To the owner - the kitchen could stand some tweaking - a few replacements of worn out utensils and get rid of a lot of duplicates. Bathroom taps (sink and shower) are in need of repair or replacement. Bad clunking in washing machine makes one think its on its last legs!
  The photo of the beach on the website needs updating. I realize this depends on the season and tides but was misleading. We did enjoy seeing the turtles!
  All in all, a wonderful vacation.
