Makani Sands #305 is a freshly renovated & beautifully decorated 3 Bedroom, 2 1/2 Bath townhouse on the 3rd & 4th floor. With two lanais boasting incredible views of the ocean & neighboring islands of Molokai and Lanai you will have a front row seat for sunsets

This west Maui rental condominium has a king bed in the master bedroom and a queen bed in the guest bedroom, both upstairs, each with a private bath and lanai. The downstairs bedroom has two twin beds. This spacious unit comes equipped with a fully equipped cook’s kitchen, washer, dryer, 4 cable TVs, 2 DVD players, & a stereo. Split system AC in all rooms.

Revive yourself with a day of snorkeling, swimming, or sunbathing right outside your door. Or, spend some nights at 'home' cooking up fresh fish on our beachfront barbecue while relaxing to the soothing sound of the waves on our beach! We enjoyed visiting with those that live in the complex and those also enjoying their vacation. The evening blowing of the Chonch was an experience we enjoyed. The proximity to all of our adventures we took was a bonus. I would recommend staying here to anyone and would come back.

  Once again, Makani Sands was an enjoyable place to stay. This was our 5th visit/stay. We enjoy the location, the friendly staff, and the nice comfortable rooms. This was our first time visiting in December/January. Saw lots of whales, turtles, and other marine life. The weather was awesome, no rain! Just sunshine and beautiful skies. We were truly sadden by the damage due to the fires in Lahaina and supported businesses as much as we could. Prayers go out to ALL people of Maui as they rebuild their lives and homes. Looking forward to our next vacation!

  We have been coming back to Makani Sands for 20 years sometimes twice in a year. This was our first time staying on the third floor in the 3 bedroom and we absolutely loved it. I love the view from there. The master is facing the ocean while the first and second floor rooms the master is in back towards pool. There is a patio on first floor outside of living room and second room has a small one facing the back. It makes a difference having your master face the ocean. The room we stayed at (305), is remodeled. Very nicely done. The newly remodeled hard scape is terrific, bbqs are new. Love all the torches at night in front of hotel. We will be back!   If you’re looking for a beautiful condo on the shores of West Maui, this is the place. This 3 bedroom, 2.5 bath condo has spectacular views of Molokai and Lanai off the two ocean-front lanais (one off the living room and one off the 4th floor master bedroom), not to mention daily sightings of whales & sea turtles. The condo itself is spacious, very clean, tastefully decorated and extremely well-appointed. You can swim & snorkel right out front, enjoy the heated pool out back or hit the nearby beaches of Ka’anapali. Great location away from the crowded resorts yet close to numerous restaurants and shops in Ka’anapali and Lahaina or further north in Kapalua. The owners clearly care about their guests; there was nothing more we could have asked for during our stay on this beautiful island. Aloha!

  We had a lovely stay at 305 Makani Sands. We had plenty of room for our four adults and one teenager. It is beautifully decorated and well equipped. The two balconies facing the ocean are outstanding for watching the waves, the sunset and listening to the ocean lull you to sleep at night. There is no A/C, but multiple fans are provided and the ocean breeze is constant. The condo has thoughtful details for travelers, such as an extension cord with multiple plugs and USB ports for charging on the nightstands and multiple hooks everywhere for towels and swimsuits. There's also beach equipment (cooler, boogie board, snorkel masks)in the front closet. The location is great, walkable to coffee, a public beach and a few shops. Easy driving distance to Front St in Lahaina or north to Kapalua. There is not much of a beach, at least in the winter with high tides,just a small strip of sand, but there are access stairs and beach restoration was underway while we were there. There was a big storm moving through during our stay, so we did not access the beach due to the high surf. Tammy is an extraordinary manager, clear instructions, easy check-in, super accommodating by letting us check-in early due to luggage logistical challenges! We appreciate you Tammy! We would love to return in the future!

  Perfect condo for our family of 2 adults and 4 children. We stayed for a week in May, and thoroughly enjoyed the amenities and location. The unit was recently renovated, with modern and comfortable bathrooms and kitchen. No A/C, but we didn't feel we needed it - there was great airflow and it was great to fall asleep to the sound of gently crashing waves. Best of all was the view - we had nearly every meal on the lanai and loved watching turtles float by directly below!

  Loved how spacious, updated and well-stocked this condominium is. We (4 adults plus a 15yo) stayed for 13 nights. The unit is in a great location. We also rented units 301 and 110 for the rest of our family. Skip 301 - it is an outdated DISASTER. In contrast, #305 has everything you need for a comfortable stay. The BBQ area is also great. The pool is heated. 5stars!

  I will say it would have been nice to know the beach "goes away" during the winter months, as one of my main reasons to stay here was the appearance of an easy access beach because we had a couple unstable family members that have a hard time getting in and out. But still loved it.

  Overall our stay was great. Greatest disappointment was the lack of sandy beachfront. The advertising picture shows a sandy beach and that does not exist. We were told the beach comes back in the summer months. Other owners on site said that’s not true. Management was super nice, condo excellent, views awesome and the location is great. Whales and turtles are a daily deal here. Very nice overall!

  We love this condo and have stayed at Makani yearly for the last ten years. We have stayed in 305 the better part of those trips. This year I was a little disappointed. We were short on supplies ie: towels, hand soap, paper towels, even dishes. There were 3 cereal bowls for a condo that sleeps 6 people. This condo has a new owner and I don’t know if that’s the reason or what??? That being said it was clean and it’s my favorite three bedroom!!

  It is a lovely townhouse! Can't get any closer to the ocean and we had turtles swim by every morning. Management was awesome and very accommodating. We didn't miss air conditioning for temperature as we did for noise on the street side and the ceiling fan in the master bedroom was very loud. Too warm to close windows. Otherwise it is a beautiful place.

  Loved staying here! We walked right out to the ocean and snorkeled with turtles! For most of the day, my 5 year old granddaughter could play in the sand, and if not, there was the swimming pool. The kitchen is very well equipped, and having the washer and dryer in the unit was great. Our unit was very clean. Even though there is no AC, if you open the windows, the breeze blows through and keeps you cool enough.

  This was an absolutely perfect rental for my husband and me (king bed, oceanfront lanai) and three visiting friends from San Diego. (2 additional bedrooms, one queen bed and two twins.) Two stories, living room has huge lanai with large round table. We watched dozens of turtles for a week, just sitting on the lanai! Easy ocean access, protected by a reef, nice snorkeling. Large kitchen, we ate many meals all together at home (in addition to some lovely restaurant dining.) Beautiful ohana experience, we hope to go back!

We spent a lot of time on the lanais watching the many turtles in front and the whales in the distance. Management was very courteous and helpful when needed. The location was excellent also, close to coffee, gas and food. We had the best vacation and look forward to coming back!

  The upstairs bathroom sink was clogged the entire stay and shower curtain rod kept falling down. A maintenence man was in our condo when we returned from being out for the day and we were never notified, were very startled and felt uncomfortable. Other than that, we enjoyed our stay.

  Our family group of 8 (5 adults and kids 1,3,5 years) had a wonderful time at Makani Sands #305. The unit is clean and was a perfect size. There were a few items missing that would have been nice (not enough wine glasses for everyone, we needed a broom and more spoons) but management helped with some of these items). The outdoor space is lovely and we barbequed most dinners outside. Beach is less than great but we visited many nearby beaches.

  This place had a great location. Kind and helpful staff. The office manager Marie was wonderful. You can't beat the view. We saw turtles everyday and even a few whales. The little beach in front of the property was awesome to have for our kids. One of my only suggestions would be that the house had a crockpot. When you are out exploring the island all day its just nice to have a meal already cooked by the time you get back.

  Great stay. The location of this place is awesome. Just enough off the beaten path that it's quiet. The water and beach right out in front are amazing. Sunsets spectacular.   This was our second time staying at the Makani Sands property. Love the location and watching the turtles swimming along. There is decent snorkeling right in front of the condo and because it is semi private, there are not a lot of people. We had a few issues with our unit, but nothing that we could not live with. I mentioned the issues to Property Management and they were willing to accommodate our needs. This location is nice because it is just far enough away from Whaler’s and Lahaina that you do not get a lot of traffic and noise. There is also a bus stop right in front so you do not have to drive your car to the above mentioned locations. There are several stores within walking distance. All in all, we had a fun time.

  Makani Sands is located at an excellent location where beach, farmet market, grocery store, Front St downtown are easily accessible. Property was nice and clear, well maintained. My only concern is that there was a significant cleaning fees charged and was still asked to clean all the garbage and throw in disposable area outside, put dishes in washer. If i had known about doing cleaning of garbage upfront, i would have looked at some other place or rather pay a smaller cleaning fees.

  We've stayed twice at Makani Sands(and one other time right next door) and really love it there. We stayed at Makani for the first time in August a couple of years ago. Our latest stay was in mid-January 2018. This time, we rented #305, a 3-bedroom/2.5 bath unit which held the six of us just fine. The unit is completely outfitted with full kitchen and kitchen implements, a washer and dryer, 3 televisions (but who would watch?) and a nice sectional couch among other things. The grounds are well-kept and the ocean is just steps away.
  
  I will make this comment: When we stayed a couple of years ago in August, the beach was as you see portrayed in the pictures. However, this last January, the surf was all the way up to the sea wall and the beach was essentially gone. We don't know if this is just an annual occurrence for this time of year, or if they will have to do some work to replace the sand once the surf goes down. As a result, while the access to the ocean was still there, it was now more difficult to get in the water with the surf hitting the wall and having to pick your way through some rocks. This is NOT the fault of the condo, obviously, but if you really want the sand it wouldn't hurt to check in advance.
  
  Otherwise, the two decks facing the ocean were great and there were whales all over the expanse of ocean--you can see them spouting, tail slapping and jumping--some out far, some in close--really great. This is a winter-time only occurrence.
  
  Overall a nice place to stay, with plenty of free parking.

  The unit was immaculately clean and very comfortable. The view from the lanai is breathtaking and we watched sea turtles play in the surf every single day. The ocean directly in front was great for snorkeling (when the waves were calm) and the pool in back was nice and warm (and even has pool toys!). The kitchen is well equipped and had everything we needed. There's no AC, but keeping the sliding doors and windows open allowed the breeze to keep the unit comfortable. The unit had several beach chairs (a few of which could use replacing), but they served our purpose. My only recommendation would be to add a plastic cooler for picnicking!
  
  The location is awesome. The nearby farmers market on M/W/F from 7-11AM has great breakfast options and the park across the street is excellent for families (calm water). There is also an ABC and Times supermarket, and several restaurants which are within walking distance (albeit a bit further). I would absolutely stay here again.

  This is our 5th stay at Makani Sands and unit 305 is by far our best experience. Very clean and updated with comfortable furniture, it has everything you could possibly want in the kitchen as well. The location in West Maui is within walking distance of some markets and shops, and easy driving distance to many popular beaches and snorkel/dive sights. The beach at Makani Sands is almost non-existant due to recent high surf and sand erosion but the very clear water there is excellent for snorkeling with the many sea turtles seen there every day. The view is amazing and whale watching is excellent here. Bert, the property manager, is outstanding at working with everyone to provide a unique, quality and value filled vacation. All you have to do is ask. We love it at Makani Sands and continue to come back as often as possible. The only drawback here I can think of is that the washer/dryer unit in the condo is very small and takes forever to dry anything. :(

  We vacationed on Maui with our 3 children, ages 15, 18, and 20. Makani Sands had room for us to spread out and have our own spaces. The balcony was my husband's favorite spot. So close to the water, cool breeze, turtles swimming by the rocks... The location was perfect. Just short drives to great restaurants or snorkeling and a nice walk to the Farmers' market. Kitchen was well appointed and beds were comfortable. Only drawback was no air conditioning. The balcony faced due west, so the afternoon sun heated it up pretty good each day. A/C would have made the evenings nicer.

  We stayed here for the week of our wedding with our Maid of Honor and Best Man. The location and condo were both perfect! The condo was well manicured and spacious. We enjoyed cooking and spending evenings on the lanai. The sound of the ocean waves in the master bedroom could not have been more romantic. The condo provided all the extras including a ice chest and snorkling gear. Whales were sighted off the lanai almost every few minutes and we named the resident sea turtle who came on shore everynight "Bubba". We enjoyed the nightly sunset blowing of the conche. Bert, the grounds keeper was so nice and became an instant friend. We could not have chosen a better place to begin our lives together. We will be back to celebrate our anniversary!

  We stayed in 2 different units (309 and 305) over the course of 9 nights with 3 couples, one having a 7-month-old. Both units were nice and had all the amenities we needed. Unit 305 was more modern than 309 and worked a bit better for us (309 has a trundle bed). We loved having the lanais to watch the whales!
  
  The location of the property is good, within walking distance to a beach/park good for families and to a market, coffee shop, etc. The only downside is if you want a beachside pool, as the pool is on the opposite side of the building from the beach. Our friends were staying at Nohonani nearby, so we spent quite a bit of time around their pool, as it was beachside so you could either be on the beach or by the pool but all together.

We all enjoyed Lahaina (surfing and a luau), trekking around the Haleakela volcano after watching the sunrise (set out early and take warm clothes), visiting the lava fields on the south end, as well as Black Rock and Napili beach. Those who aren't prone to car sickness traveled the Road to Hana. The bonus was that coming home or staying home at Makani Sands was always wonderful. The view was amazing and we were gifted with a double rainbow on day one. We saw turtles every day!!
  Also, the staff at the Farmer's Market was helpful and fun.
  The rental townhouse was clean and up to date. One more shower would have made it perfect. We required quick, reliable Internet access for one guest and it worked beautifully. Bert, the facilities manager, was wonderful!

  Our family absolutely loved staying at Makani Sands! It's amazing location, right on the beach, was gorgeous! The condo was very clean, comfortable and had all the comforts of home. The outside BBQ area was also very nice & kept very clean. Our family had a wonderful time and hope to be back very soon!

  My husband and I plus 4 others stayed in a three bedroom condo. It was very comfortable and so relaxing. We had everything we needed supplied for us in the condo. We can't wait to go back!
